Under the Fortnight Hispanic films, film projects the Carmelites The Argentine film: XXY by Lucia Puenzo. This film that I encourage you to see (or review) is a true reflection on the difference and the eyes of others.
Synopsis: Alex, a girl aged 15, has a secret: it is hermaphrodite. Shortly after his birth, his parents decide to leave Buenos Aires to settle on the Uruguayan side in a wooden house deep in the dunes. XXY begins with the arrival of a couple of friends from Buenos Aires, accompanied by Alvaro, their son 16. The father, a specialist in cosmetic surgery, has accepted the invitation because of medical interest that the door to Alex. An inevitable attraction arises between the two children who will force them to confront their fears ... Rumors are spreading in the city. We are beginning to stare at Alex as if it were a monster. The fascination now it carries risk of becoming dangerous.
