Municipal Orleans in 2008: candidates answer questions LGBT

Tuesday 26 February 2008

Under the municipal campaign in Orleans, two members of the Board of Gagli went to meet Mr Serge GROUARD and Jean-Pierre Sueur, to present the gay health project in 2008 and seek their position on LGBT issues.

orleans

Serge Grouard INTERVIEW WITH MR SERGE GROUARD - 22 February 2008

Gagli - Mr GROUARD, what is your position on the PACS improved, marriage and adoption?

SG - I have no problem with the marriage, I have a reservation with the adoption of children. I have a strong sensitivity to children. The child is sacred. If the company was
tolerant, it should pose no problem. But, for example, in the playground, if a child has two dads or two moms is a victim of ridicule of his comrades, I would not want it back in tears.
You will tell me, against argument, that in some families children are not treated better.
You know, I have a liberal position. In society, things change but I think it must be done within a certain time. For now, I pay attention to the reactions that it engenders.

Gagli - What actions against homophobia (in everyday life, work, ...) and discrimination will lead you in Orleans if you are elected?

SG - Homophobia, discrimination, to me is unbearable. Unacceptable. The city of Orleans already fight against discrimination especially for Schools and access to employment and internships. We have established a platform that allows to link employers, entrepreneurs to hire young people from the Source, for example for major district.
As part of the future home of employment, there will be a place for the fight against homophobia and discrimination.

Gagli - How and what role for the city in the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, AIDS and hepatitis?

SG - For me, it is important that a city is interested in the health of its inhabitants. Some argue that public health it is not within the competence of a city. I think the opposite and we will work including the creation of two "medical homes". But you, what you need is a specific room for your health actions gay. I'm ready to get into the project and find you a room or to supplement the budget to rent one.

Jean Pierre sweat Interview with Jean-Pierre Sueur - 25 February 2008

Gagli - Mr SUEUR, what is your position on the PACS improved, marriage and adoption?

JPS - I will not say that a few years ago but changing minds to move towards recognition. We happen to the same rights for homosexual couples, this is already happening in other European countries. Everything is in my program, "The Act gives everyone the right to recognize his marriage by the signing of PACS. Ceremonies confirmation PACS will be held in city hall por couples and families who wish to give these signatures solemnity and recognition which they are entitled. "

Gagli - What actions against homophobia (in everyday life, work, ...) and discrimination will lead you in Orleans if you are elected?

JPS - Again, I invite you to take in-verbatim what is in my program, They are firm commitments, "the city will support the actions of associations in the fight against discrimination: sexist, racist, xenophobic or homophobic. It will contribute to raising awareness organized by these associations in schools, recreation centers and cultural centers and sports. "

Gagli - How and what role for the city in the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, AIDS and hepatitis?

JPS - I intend to create health centers, the permanence of care to respond to that emergencies are not really. One of them will be located at the hospital door when Madeleine everything will be repatriated to The Source.
It is important to develop information about STIs, AIDS and hepatitis. It is a point in my program too. I also, as a senator asked a question to the Minister (Written Question No. 03,095 of Mr. Jean-Pierre Sueur published in the OJ Senate 17/01/2008) on the risks of infection by HIV among gay men.

Your health project'm gay and I support. I am in the early months of the mandate to facilitate access to rooms so that the grants can be used in 2008.
